What it is: Anthropic's new top models. Fable 5 was public and Mythos 5 went only to vetted partners. Three days after launch both were suspended under US-government action, then restored when export controls were lifted.

HN's take: The biggest thread in the set (about 2,100 comments): "amazing, but". People called it a real step change but were angry about the end of free subscription access, silent throttling and over-sensitive classifiers. The suspension thread itself was folded by moderators into another discussion.
